Prayer Reflection – March 29, 2024

John 1:29 (NIV)

29 The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, “Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!

John 19:28-30 (NIV)

28 Later, knowing that everything had now been finished, and so that Scripture would be fulfilled, Jesus said, “I am thirsty.” 29 A jar of wine vinegar was there, so they soaked a sponge in it, put the sponge on a stalk of the hyssop plant, and lifted it to Jesus’ lips. 30 When he had received the drink, Jesus said, “It is finished.” With that, he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.

Luke 24:45-47 (NIV)

45 Then he opened their minds so they could understand the Scriptures. 46 He told them, “This is what is written: The Messiah will suffer and rise from the dead on the third day, 47 and repentance for the forgiveness of sins will be preached in his name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

Let’s pause today and remember the indescribably wonderful gift that our heavenly Father has given us through His Son, Jesus (see also Ephesians 1:3).

Let’s consider the significance of the declaration of Jesus, “It is finished.” (see John 19:30; see also Revelation 4-5).

As you reflect on Scripture today, I invite you to also consider prayerfully reading through one or more of the Gospel accounts of Jesus’ death and resurrection (see these chapters in the Gospels: Matthew 27-28, Mark 15-16, Luke 23-24, John 19-21).

What does the Lord cause to stand out to you?

How has Jesus transformed your life?  I invite you to take time to thank Him today.

Here are two songs by Chris Tomlin that I wanted to share with you today:

The Lord bless you!

Colossians 2:6-7
