The Gospel of Mark
Join us this Sunday as Pastor Jordon Cavanaugh (in the morning services) and Japheth Wildeboer (in the evening service) continues “Unexpected: The Gospel of Mark,” a ten-week series exploring the surprising ways Jesus responds to people and situations. This week, they will be sharing on Peter recognizing Jesus as the Messiah and declaring who He truly is.

Prayer Gatherings
10:10 Prayer:
10:10 is an invitation for our whole church to believe God for the people around us. Together, we’re choosing to pray intentionally for three people by name—asking Jesus to meet them, reveal His love to them, and lead them into the “life to the full” He promises. As we pray faithfully, we also want to live expectantly, watching for the opportunities God gives us to love, serve, show, and share His goodness. Our hope is that 10:10 becomes more than a prayer practice—it becomes a culture of our church: a people who pray for others, carry them in our hearts, and step through every door God opens.
An example you could pray this prayer drawn from John 10:10: Thank You, Jesus, for saving me, loving us, and revealing Yourself to people in Central Alberta and around the world. Thank You for (name), and for the life we share; please open their eyes to Your abundant life and lead them to follow You. Show me how I can join You in what You are doing in their life. Thank You, Jesus! I love You! Amen.

A New Chapter in Rwanda
Come hear what’s happening in Rwanda and celebrate an exciting new chapter in our global partnership! We’re thrilled to welcome Clemence Nkulikiyinka, Country Director of Murika Development Partners, and her colleague, Krystel Mumba, to CrossRoads. Murika Development Partners is our Rwandan partner and was recently established as an independent, locally led organization after graduating from World Relief Rwanda.
Now, you’re invited to hear firsthand how that partnership has grown, what God is doing through Murika Development Partners, and what this new chapter means for the future. Bring your questions, enjoy lunch, and come hear stories of transformation from people who are right in the middle of the work.

Donate Bottles for Missions
We are grateful to have the opportunity to collect bottle donations for use by our Missions department. Your donations provide funds to support a variety of needs for local & global outreach. The collection trailer will be parked on the east side of the parking lot and will be open for your donations between 8:30am and 7pm the second Sunday of every month.

Being a single mom can feel like carrying a lot on your own—but you don’t have to do it alone. Single Moms Fellowship is a welcoming community where women can come as they are, build meaningful friendships, grow in their faith, and walk alongside other moms who understand the unique joys and challenges of single motherhood.
Together, we share life, laugh, learn, pray, and encourage one another while making space for genuine connection and friendship. A place to be known. A place to belong. A place to grow. A Seed Planted
Dorothy Reid of EMCC World Partners recently experienced a beautiful reminder that the seeds of faith planted in a child’s heart can bear fruit years later. After caring for and sharing the love of Jesus with two children in Romania, Dorothy was surprised to reconnect with one of them as a young man. He shared that he had returned to the Lord and still remembered what Dorothy had taught him: “God is my strength.”
Prayer Points:
- For the children: That the seeds of faith planted through Kids’ Clubs and Afterschool programs would bear lasting fruit.
- For ministry in Romania: For the completion of the new building in Drăgănești-Olt and the church plant in Mărunței.
- For salvation: That those seeking God would come to know Jesus and experience His strength in their lives.

Kinship, Foster & Adoption
Family Unlimited is a support and fellowship group for anyone involved in or considering kinship care, foster care, or adoption. This is a space where you can come as you are, whether you’re in the middle of the journey or just exploring what it could look like. It’s a place to connect with others who understand, share real-life experiences, and find encouragement and practical support along the way. Taking Church to the Streets
Street Ministry is a need in our city and you can be a part of showing love and care to those that are homeless and broken in our city. Meeting people where they are at is what the Rapha group does every Sunday afternoon. They hand out food, clothing, and other items, but most importantly, they pour out compassion in Jesus' name. This group needs your prayers. They also would love you to come along side and help them be the hands and feet of Jesus. Your mission field is right where you are. Scripture tells us many times that we are to feed and clothe the poor and that our treasure awaits in Heaven. Won't you be a light in our city? Breaking Free, Finding Healing
Sexual Integrity 101 is a 4-week course exploring pornography addiction, its effects on individuals and relationships, and the pathway toward freedom and healing.
We live in a world saturated with sexualized content—from movies and video games to social media and online advertising. For many people, this constant exposure can make it difficult to experience sexual health and wholeness.
Sexual Integrity 101 provides a foundational understanding of pornography addiction, why breaking free can be difficult, and the impact it can have on individuals, marriages, relationships, and families. Whether you’re struggling personally or want to better understand how to support someone you care about, this course offers a place to learn, find hope, and discover a pathway toward freedom, restoration, and lasting change.
Come ready to engage in honest conversations, grow in understanding, and discover how grace and truth can create space for healing.

Local Impact Needs
Food hampers are one practical way we come alongside single-parent families in our city. Through local schools, we’re able to respond to food insecurity each week and remind families that they are seen, cared for and not alone. You can help by donating non-perishable food items to the Café donation bin. Canned fruit, soup, cereal, jam, peanut butter, crackers, tinned meat and pasta are all commonly included in our hampers.
Thank you for helping provide practical support and share the hope of Jesus with families in our community.
Serve Beyond Our Walls
Hope Mission Red Deer: Volunteers are needed for Breakfast Club and Kids in Action, helping serve meals, lead activities, and build positive connections with children. Contact reddeer@hopemission.com or 587-819-0015.
Red Deer Native Friendship Centre: Baking volunteers are needed to provide homemade desserts for seniors experiencing food insecurity. Gather your family or small group and bake a little sweetness into someone’s day! Contact Sue at 403-340-0020.
Opportunity to Serve
Have you enjoyed a bowl of soup during our Soup's On community lunches? It's a great chance to sit down with friends old and new to connect, encourage, and enjoy each other's company! If you know you're sticking around for a while, we could use some help after each morning service cleaning up the spaces, including taking down tables and chairs after the 11:00 service lunch. These are simple tasks like wiping trays and tables, filling water jugs, and emptying garbage cans. If you're interested, send a note to Heidi Rew at heidir@crossroadschurch.ca.
Hot Drinks, Treats, & Soup!
Looking for a cozy spot to catch up with friends or simply enjoy a warm drink? The Café has you covered with specialty hot and cold drinks, fresh-baked treats, and delicious lunch and supper options throughout the fall. You can also take the flavours of Soup’s On home with our frozen soup options, available in 1L containers for $7.50 or a 350ml size for $4.

How Can We Pray For You?
Following each service, prayer team members are ready to pray with you. If you join us in person, prayer is available in the Sanctuary. If you're watching online, let us know your prayer request by sharing it here. Someone will then follow-up with you to pray together.

Collect Food Donations
Help make a difference in our community through Adopt-a-Block! Gather your family, friends, or small group and choose a neighbourhood or block to collect food donations for the Red Deer Food Bank. Pick up cards from Bob beforehand and hand them out to your neighbours to let them know you’ll be coming by on October 31 to collect donations. Then, go door-to-door collecting food and bring your donations to the Food Bank the following week. Contact Bob at trickoreatreddeer@gmail.com or 587-438-1456 to get your cards.
CAPCC Fundraising Banquet
You are warmly invited to join the Central Alberta Pregnancy Care Centre for its Annual Fall Fundraising Banquet. This year’s theme, “Portraits of Grace,” celebrates the mothers, fathers, and babies whose stories are being transformed from fear, anxiety, and isolation into hope, community, and unconditional support.
All proceeds will support the operational funds of the Central Alberta Pregnancy Care Centre, helping provide education and compassionate support before, during, and after pregnancy in our local community. Enjoy an evening featuring a buffet dinner, silent auction, and inspiring guest speakers. Semi-formal attire is encouraged, but not required.
