Authentic

New Series: AUTHENTIC

What does it really mean to live an authentic life as a follower of Jesus? This fall, we’ll journey through the book of Acts and explore how the early church modeled a genuine faith—rooted in truth, empowered by the Spirit, and lived out in everyday life. From authentic faith and prayer to authentic community and mission, each week will challenge us to embrace the kind of life Jesus invites us into. Join us as Pastor Dan kicks off the series by setting the stage with Acts 1.

Everyone is welcome to worship in person this Sunday at 9am, 11am, or 6pm, or join the livestream at one of the morning services. Join us online by visiting the livestream page, or find more info at crossroadschurch.ca/sunday.

SP Transition

Leadership Update

As we step into this next season, the Senior Pastor Transition process continues to move forward with intention and prayer. This past June, the congregation affirmed Pastor Jordan Cavanaugh to step into the role of Senior Pastor when Pastor Dan transitions out in July 2026.

Over the summer, the Transition Committee has been working on an updated transition timeline, which will be shared with the congregation soon. Part of that plan includes freeing Jordan from his current role as Pastor of Community Life so he can focus more fully on preparing for this future leadership role.

To support this transition, Pastor Denise Snyder has now stepped into the role of Pastor of Discipleship & Community Life, overseeing the department. The team structure has also been refreshed to distribute responsibilities and expand capacity—including some updated staff profiles and the hiring of a new Hospitality Coordinator.

Please continue to pray for Pastor Jordan, our leadership, and our church family as we walk through this meaningful season together.

(Awana is open to any family (kids ages 6 months to Grade 6), who is involved with a NEXT group or is serving in some capacity on Tuesday nights.)

All NEXT groups will start on Tuesday, September 16th, from 6:30pm-8:00pm, with an option to purchase light dinner from the Café. (soup, salads, sandwiches). Doors will open at 5:30pm.

Current Serve Needs

We’re excited about all God is doing in and through our church family, and we’d love for you to be part of it! There are many ways to serve this fall, and no matter your gifts or availability, there’s a place for you on the team.

Here are three key areas where we need your help:

  • AWANA (Tuesdays, starting September 16): Help disciple kids through Bible memorization, games, worship, and stories. Roles include check-in, age-specific groups (Nursery–Grade 6), and more.

  • CrossRoads Kids (Kindergarten–Grade 6): Be part of shaping the next generation by serving in classrooms on Sundays. We especially need leaders in Grades 2–4 at the 9am and 11am services. Reach out to robynf@crossroadschurch.ca with any questions, to learn more or to get involved!

  • Cafe & Kitchen Teams: Serve on Sundays or Tuesdays as a barista, cashier, or kitchen helper. No experience needed—training provided!  To start the conversation, contact: jodieo@crossroadschurch.ca

Would you prayerfully consider where you could step in and serve? Your time and heart make a lasting difference.

Prayer

How Can We Pray For You?

Following each service, prayer team members are ready to pray with you. If you join us in person, prayer is available in the Sanctuary. If you're watching online, let us know your prayer request by sharing it here. Someone will then follow-up with you to pray together.

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God." - Philippians 4:6
