Prayer Reflection – December 3, 2025

Jeremiah 29:11-13 (NIV)

11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. 12 Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. 13 You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.

Psalm 42:11 (NIV)

11 Why, my soul, are you downcast?
    Why so disturbed within me?
Put your hope in God,
for I will yet praise him,
    my Savior and my God.

We are in the Advent season of waiting and watching, anticipating Christmas.  We look forward to celebrating Christ’s birth and anticipate His return.

It is good to pause and remember where we place our hope.  Where does this season find you?

Are there losses that you are grieving?  Are you suffering and feeling overwhelmed?

What are you thanking our Father for today?  Who are you praying for today?

Recently, I have been thinking a lot about our Father’s love for us and how we love because He first loved us (1 John 4:19).  He is always initiating the conversation and invites our lives as a response to Him.  Everything is an opportunity to respond to His love for us (See John 3:16-17).

It’s His plans and His gift of hope and a future.  We seek Him as response.

It’s remembering who He is and because of who He is, we place our hope in Him.

I encourage you to read Psalm 42 slowly and prayerfully.

See what the Holy Spirit highlights in your heart from Psalm 42.  Remember that Jesus stands at the door and knocks (Revelation 3:20).  Invite Jesus in and talk with Him, listen to Him, and obey Him.  He loves you.

Here are songs that come to mind and I wanted to share them with you:

King of Kings by Brooke Ligertwood

Turn by Ben Fuller

The Lord bless you!
