Prayer Reflection- September 18th, 2025

John 16:33 NIV

“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.””


Recently, I began the day by saying, “Good morning Father.” The day was already going with lots happening in our household and it was good to pause and remember that our Father is right there with me with His new mercies every morning (see Lamentations 3:22-24).

In John 16, Jesus told us that we will have trouble in this world. Not that we might have trouble or in some cases, we could have trouble. But that we will have trouble.

I invite you to ask Jesus today what it looks like for us to take heart in the midst of trouble. And for us to remember His declaration and promise that He has overcome the world.

In the season, I also invite you to take the Lord’s prayer (see Matthew 6:8-13) and work it into your daily and weekly prayer rhythms, praying it slowly and seeing how the Holy Spirit leads you in that.
