John 13:3-5 (NIV)
3 Jesus knew that the Father had put all things under his power, and that he had come from God and was returning to God; 4 so he got up from the meal, took off his outer clothing, and wrapped a towel around his waist. 5 After that, he poured water into a basin and began to wash his disciples’ feet, drying them with the towel that was wrapped around him.
Philippians 2:5-11 (NIV)
5 In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus:
6 Who, being in very nature God,
did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage;
7 rather, he made himself nothing
by taking the very nature of a servant,
being made in human likeness.
8 And being found in appearance as a man,
he humbled himself
by becoming obedient to death—
even death on a cross!
9 Therefore God exalted him to the highest place
and gave him the name that is above every name,
10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow,
in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
11 and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord,
to the glory of God the Father.
As you read in John 13 and Philippians 2, notice how Jesus serves.
This is what I would like us to reflect on today. Perhaps other passages of Scripture come to mind. What does the Lord cause to stand out to you today?
I was reminded recently of three key questions that people face: Who am I? Where do I belong? What is my purpose? Let’s pray that all of us would have these questions answered as we look to Jesus and live in Him. Let’s pray this for others whom have yet to trust Him as their Lord and Saviour.
Jesus invites us to follow Him in humility and surrender, serving others in His name. Let’s pray that we would pay attention this week to what Jesus wants us to notice.
Here is a song led by Brenton Brown from Vineyard Worship that I wanted to share with you:
The Lord bless you!
