Revelation 3:20 (NIV)

20 Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.

How is it with your soul?  In the depth of who you are, how are you?

Jesus stands at the door and knocks.

I recently heard someone’s observation of this Scripture and how the door opens from the inside.

It is important to remember how this verse is part of a message directly from Jesus to the church in Laodicea.  It is addressed to believers in Jesus.

I encourage you to read the rest of Jesus’ words here and see what He causes to stand out to you today (see Revelation 3:14-22).  Consider also exploring the larger context of Revelation.

Jesus stands at the door and knocks.

Let’s open the door.  Let’s invite Him in.  Let’s pause and eat with Him.  This is such an amazing picture of intimate conversation and connection with our Lord and Saviour, Jesus.

This is not rushed.  This is not in passing.  Allow yourself to slow in His presence and invite Him to show you what He would like to talk about, to speak into, to heal.

Is there something that we need to confess to Him today and repent of?

Let’s follow the Holy Spirit’s leading and enjoy this time with Jesus.  He is gentle and humble in heart (see Matthew 11:28-30).

As we take this time with Jesus today, here are two songs to reflect on:

The Lord bless you!

Colossians 2:6-7
