Prayer Reflection – September 12, 2023
Matthew 5:1-3 (NIV)
Now when Jesus saw the crowds, he went up on a mountainside and sat down. His disciples came to him, 2 and he began to teach them. He said: 3 “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.”
Matthew 11:28-30 (NLT)
28 Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.”
The Lord is faithful!
Because He is faithful, we can bring everything to Him. We don’t need to hold anything back.
In Matthew 5:3, we read the words of Jesus, “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.”
Blessed are those who know how much they need God.
Consider this prayer today: “Jesus, I need You!” What could it look like to declare this in a fresh way to Jesus today and thank Him for His faithfulness?
Perhaps then add to that: “Lord Jesus, forgive me for the places that I run to instead of running to You.”
Let’s reflect on Jesus’ invitation to come to Him today (see Matthew 11:28-30). Bring whatever it is that is weighing you down and receive His easy yoke. Let Jesus lead you today.
He loves you. He died for you. He held nothing back. Let’s not hold anything back from Him today as we respond to His invitation into His presence.
This is a song that Jesus has impacted me through recently and I wanted to share it with you today:
The Lord bless you!
Sincerely yours in Jesus,
Psalm 130
