Light in the Shadows - CW

God Takes Care Of Us

This month, Pastor Jordan Cavanaugh leads us through a series called, Light in The Shadows. The focus is on Elijah and Elisha who are two men that followed God during a dark time in Biblical history. Though Elijah was a man “just like us,” God called him to be a light and speak truth to a wandering nation. Their stories remind us that God uses ordinary people for extraordinary purposes—and He can do the same through us today.

This Sunday, Pastor Jordan speaks based on 1 Kings 19:1-18. After obeying God and defeating the prophets of Baal, Elijah is threatened by the queen and he becomes overwhelmed, pleading with God to end his life. But God instead restores his spirit by giving him rest, food, and His quiet presence inside a gentle whisper. In the stillness, God reminds Elijah that he is not alone, that thousands still stand faithful, and that even in our darkest valleys, God draws near to restore, to strengthen, and to speak to us - if only we are still enough to listen and open enough to see.

Everyone is welcome to worship in person this Sunday at 9am, 11am, or 6pm, or join the livestream at one of the morning services. Join us online by visiting the livestream page, or find more info at crossroadschurch.ca/sunday.

Pray for Children Dedicated CW

Support Young Families

Please pray for these families who recently had their children dedicated. It takes a village to raise a child, so let's lift these families up in prayer as they ask God to protect, provide, and help kids flourish into who they are meant to grow into. This is a declaration for each family to commit to raising children in Christ's name and it is our opportunity, as a church family, to support them.

Brody Jespersen Guest speaker

Welcome Our Guest Speaker!

On Sunday, May 18, we welcome Brody Jespersen as he expands on the Light in the Shadows series. Over the last two decades, Brody has had the privilege of serving congregations all over Alberta; Pastoring at Centre Street Church, Lethbridge E-Free Church, and most recently, at Sherwood Park Alliance Church. He served as a Senior Associate Pastor and a member of Sherwood Park Alliance's teaching team. Brody is passionate about discipleship, integrity, and faithfulness to the mission of Jesus. He is married to Jodie and they have 3 children.

Brody's message will be based on 2 Kings 2; the end of Elijah's faithful life. This miraculous story shows us that God gives power to those that seek Him wholeheartedly; reminding us to stay faithful through every transition and boldly step into the calling He gives us.
