Psalms - Character Shaping
As we continue through the season of Lent and look ahead to Good Friday, we invite you to join us for our winter series, “Psalms: The Way of Life.” This series takes a deep dive into the Book of Psalms, exploring how these ancient prayers and songs shape our thinking, prayer, praise, and character through every season of life. Along the way, we’ll see how the Psalms reveal Jesus throughout Scripture and guide us toward a life after God’s own heart.
This week Pastor Dan Cochrane will be teaching from Psalm 139:13-18 (Part 2). Together we’ll explore how the Psalms speak into every aspect of life: from thanksgiving and lament to petition and confession, and discover how these words can shape the way we approach God personally and as a community.
Everyone is welcome to worship in person this Sunday at 9am, 11am, or 6pm, or join the livestream at one of the morning services. Join us online by visiting the livestream page, or find more info at crossroadschurch.ca/sunday.

Important Update
Our Senior Pastor transition continues to move forward well, and we’re grateful for how God is guiding this season for CrossRoads.
Over the past months, Pastor Jordan has been intentionally preparing for his future role while continuing to serve alongside Pastor Dan. The Senior Pastor Transition Committee has been meeting regularly, and many conversations, mentoring moments, and planning efforts have been happening behind the scenes to ensure a smooth and healthy transition.
Two important dates are coming up this June:
June 14 – Pastor Dan’s Farewell Sunday
June 21 – Pastor Jordan’s Commissioning as Senior Pastor
More details will follow, but we encourage you to save the dates.

This Week’s Prayer Focus: Dreams and Visions of Jesus
This week we are praying for Muslims around the world during the “Night of Power”, a significant night when many believe the first verses of the Qur’an were revealed to Muhammad. It is a time when many Muslims seek closeness to God, believing prayers are especially powerful and that God’s mercy and blessings are abundant. There are also many reports of Muslims encountering Jesus through dreams and visions during this night.
Prayer Points
-
Pray that Muslim families around the world would experience a deep awareness of God’s presence as they pray during the Night of Power.
-
Pray that the Holy Spirit would reveal Jesus through dreams and visions to those sincerely seeking God.
-
Pray for the needs of Muslim people, especially in regions experiencing conflict or significant hardship.
Pray for the Uganda Team
Please remember to be praying for the Global Impact Team as they head to Uganda, from March 3–17, to serve with International Needs. The team, including Pastor Jordan Cavanaugh (not pictured), will help lead a Pastors’ Conference, a Women’s Conference, and support teachers and students in Buikwe.

Easter at CrossRoads
Good Friday Service:
Good Friday is the day we remember that Jesus willingly suffered and died on the cross as a sacrifice for our sins. What seemed like a moment of defeat was actually the turning point of God’s plan to rescue the world. At the cross, justice and mercy met, and through Jesus we are offered forgiveness, freedom, and new life (Psalm 85:10; Romans 5:6–10).
Join us as we reflect on the meaning of the cross and the hope it brings. Please note, there is no Sunday School available this day.
Friday, April 3: 9am or 11am
Easter Sunday Service:
Easter Sunday is a celebration of Jesus’ victory over sin and death. Because He rose again, we have hope and new life. Come celebrate with us,and consider inviting a friend or family member to join you. Sunday School is available for each service.
Sunday, April 5: 9am, 11am, or 6pm

This night presents a wonderful opportunity to invite someone who may not know much about God or faith—offering a welcoming space to explore life’s deepest questions, encounter the hope of the Gospel, and see how every part of Scripture points to Jesus. Come listen. Come reflect. Come be reminded that you are part of a story far greater than yourself.

Friday Fasting during Lent
During the season of Lent (February 18 - April 2), we have the opportunity to examine ourselves, recognize sin in our lives, and turn away from it. It’s a time filled with gratitude for what Jesus has done for us because we know that we could never overcome sin on our own! The Bible has many examples of people fasting—giving up food or water for a certain amount of time. It is often a way of committing time to God, praying for something specific, or done during times of mourning. Jesus assumes that His people fast (Matthew 6:16). Many Christians around the world have often instituted a time of fasting during the season of Lent.
During this season at CrossRoads, some of us may want to practice fasting. Consider joining us on Fridays during the season of Lent in practicing specific fasts. You may want to join for just one, or maybe for all of them. We enter into this practice not as a way of punishing ourselves or earning grace, but as a recognition that God is the One who supplies all of our needs.
Text Reminders: Sign up to receive a reminder text on Thursdays before each of the Friday fasts by texting "lent" to: 833-313-1305 (regular messaging rates may apply.

Making Space for Prayer
We invite each person to take a break from the busyness of life and focus on prayer during this season of Lent. You can pray from home, at the park, in a Café, or even here at CrossRoads. The Prayer Room will be available with interactive stations designed to help guide you in prayer through Psalm 23. We can't wait to see how God moves, not only in our lives, but in our hearts, our faith, and our community!
Prayer Room Hours:
Sunday, February 15 to Sunday, April 5.
Open Monday- Friday, during regular office hours: 8:30am-4:30pm

The Next Step in Faith
At CrossRoads Church, we believe that baptism is a step of obedience for those who follow Jesus. It is a way for us to publicly declare that we acknowledge Jesus as Lord and are committing our lives to walking in His way. We would be thrilled to help you take this important step in your faith journey! The next baptism service is the Sunday after Easter.
Sunday, April 12 at all three services.
If you are thinking about taking this important step in following Jesus, please fill out the baptism form and we will be in contact with you to set up an interview.
