The team chat was buzzing for most of Saturday as members were packing and making their final preparations for the journey to Rwanda. Excitement and anticipation ran high as departure day approached.

On Sunday morning, just as the 9am service wrapped up, the team gathered in the Youth Wing. Together, they loaded their luggage into the truck before joining a small group of loved ones for a meaningful send-off.

Our team of seven—Richard Vander Leek, Adam Minke, Esteban Frayjo, Bernie TenHove, Heather Carson, Brent Carson, and David Garwood—stepped into a circle where the rest of us surrounded them in prayer. We took time to share words of encouragement and blessing, sending them out with love and support as they headed for the airport.

Their drive went smoothly, and the team enjoyed a final meal together at Chili’s before boarding. At 4:05 pm, their plane lifted off—next stop: Amsterdam!
They’ll spend the next 8 hours and 45 minutes in the air (landing just before 1am our time), enjoy a 2.5-hour layover (complete with a chance to stretch and grab breakfast in Amsterdam), and then board their final flight to Kigali, Rwanda.
Please continue to keep the team in your prayers as they travel. More updates to come! 🌍✈️
