Prayer Reflection – May 5, 2023

2 Chronicles 7:14 (NIV)

14 if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

Philippians 2:5-11 (NIV)

In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus:

Who, being in very nature God,
    did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage;
rather, he made himself nothing
by taking the very nature of a servant,
    being made in human likeness.
And being found in appearance as a man,
    he humbled himself
    by becoming obedient to death—
        even death on a cross!

Therefore God exalted him to the highest place
and gave him the name that is above every name,
10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow,
in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
11 and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord,
to the glory of God the Father.

In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus (see Philippians 2:5).

I encourage you to prayerfully read Philippians 2 and consider reading through the book of Philippians in one sitting.

In this chapter, Paul reminds the church in Philippi that they are united with Jesus and he then exhorts them (strongly encourages them) to live out His love, compassion, and service towards one another (see Philippians 2:1-4).

What stands out to you as you read this chapter?

I am thankful that Jesus came as a servant (Philippians 2:7).  I am thankful for His complete victory.

Lord Jesus!  The name that is above every name (Philippians 2:9).

I invite you to reflect on this song as you pause with Jesus in prayer today:

The Lord bless you!

 Psalm 23
