Prayer Reflection – April 20, 2023

If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.
~ 2 Chronicles 7:14 ~

Come, let us bow down in worship, let us kneel before the Lord our Maker; for he is our God and we are the people of his pasture, the flock under his care.
Psalm 95:6-7 ~

“I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me— just as the Father knows me and I know the Father—and I lay down my life for the sheep."
~ John 10:14-15 ~

A posture of worship and dependence.  This is our response to our Heavenly Father through His Son Jesus.

We recently had the privilege of witnessing people in our church being baptized.  We heard them publicly declare that Jesus is their Lord and Saviour.  Their lives belong to Him.

All in.  My life belongs to Jesus.

What does it look like for us to arrange our entire lives around Jesus?

There are so many things that can distract and discourage us and so it’s an ongoing challenge to keep our eyes on Jesus (see Hebrews 12:1-3).

Jesus is faithful.  He will see us through.

Perhaps pause today and take a look at your day.  What could it look like to pause with Jesus, not only now, but later again today?

Is there a particular person or a difficult conversation that is heavy on your heart?  What could it look like to invite Jesus into that right now?

Place it in His hands and ask Him to lead you as your Good Shepherd (see Psalm 23).

He is faithful.

I invite you to reflect on these songs as you pause with Jesus today:

The Lord bless you today!

Sincerely yours in Jesus,

Pastor Dave Morin
