Prayer Reflection – January 27, 2023

2 Chronicles 7:14 (NIV)
14 if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

1 Timothy 2:1-6 (NLT)
I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people. Ask God to help them; intercede on their behalf, and give thanks for them. Pray this way for kings and all who are in authority so that we can live peaceful and quiet lives marked by godliness and dignity. This is good and pleases God our Savior, who wants everyone to be saved and to understand the truth. For, There is one God and one Mediator who can reconcile God and humanity—the man Christ Jesus. He gave his life to purchase freedom for everyone. This is the message God gave to the world at just the right time.

I enjoy watching good movies.  I was thinking recently about the credits at the end of movies.  The credits roll and there is a long list of those who have been a part of making this movie happen.

And then I thought of my life.  At the end of my life, there will be one name as the credits roll: Jesus.  Jesus will be the only name on my lips.

He alone is my hope and my peace (see Ephesians 2:13-18).  Through Jesus, I have been reconciled to my Father in heaven.  By the power of His Holy Spirit (see Acts 2), I get to participate in His mission in this world (see 2 Corinthians 5:17-21) and invite others to be reconciled to God.

As you pause with Jesus today, I encourage you to begin by thanking Him for who He is and what He has done.  I invite you to take time to sit and express your love to Him.  I love You Jesus!

Ask Jesus to help you notice what He is doing today.  The things that Jesus is doing in your life.  The ways that He is at work in the lives of people around you.  His invitation to you to join Him in what He is doing.

Thank You, Jesus!

This is a song that I would like to share with you today as you pause with Jesus:

The Lord bless you today!

Sincerely yours in Jesus,
Pastor Dave
