Hope in The Holidays
Wednesday, December 4, at 7pm in the Sanctuary
Join us for an evening of music and encouragement as we recognize the weight of grief, a burden that often feels even heavier during the holiday season. Hope in the Holidays is an evening filled with music and authentic stories from a family who will open up about their personal journeys through profound loss.
Our special guests, Megan, Bernie, and Teresa TenHove, will share their stories, alongside music lead by the CrossRoads Church music team. Be inspired by those who have emerged from sorrow, discovering hope and resilience on the other side. We invite you to experience this evening with us, where you will find community, resources, and support to remind you that you are not alone in this journey.
Dessert, coffee and tea reception follows the service.
Speakers:
BERNIE & TERESA TENHOVE
Bernie and Teresa TenHove were both raised in Christian homes and have been married for 36 years. Family has always been a priority to them, and they were blessed with 4 children. The oldest 3 have since married, and now they have nine beautiful grandchildren who bring so much joy to their home. Tragedy struck the family in 2020 with the sudden death of their son Travis while he was on an ice climbing adventure which changed Bernie and Teresa's world forever.
MEGAN TENHOVE
Megan grew up in a Christian home and attended CrossRoads Young Adults where she met Travis and they started dating. They got married in 2016 and were delighted to find out they were pregnant at the beginning of 2019. When their son was not quite 9 months old, Travis went ice climbing in Jasper; a sport he was very passionate about and had done many times. On this climb, the 28 year old loving husband and father took a fall and tragically passed away.
