John 16:33 (NIV)
“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
Take heart! This is the exhortation from Jesus in John 16:33 as he declares that He has overcome the world.
Notice that Jesus says that we will have trouble in this world. Not that we may have trouble, but that we will have trouble. He knows that we have trouble. He knows what it’s like to live on this earth.
But take heart! Jesus has overcome the world! Thank You Lord!
What a wonderful truth that Jesus declares!
I encourage you to read through all of John 16 and even consider reading John 13-17 this week.
What does Jesus draw your attention to today?
Is there something that you need to bring to Him in prayer with renewed faith?
Our Father in heaven is faithful! He loves you. He knows. He knows all of it. So let’s bring things to Him today in a posture of open-handed trust. Let’s pray for people that He brings to mind, that they would know the hope that is only found in Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour!
