Camp Ohana

In May, CrossRoads Church was able to help in sending 13 women and 30 children to the “O’hana Camp” at Camp Harmatten.  Each year we partner with the Central Alberta Women’s Emergency Shelter (CAWES), to provide a weekend where women feel respite and care and at the same time are able to feel the love of Jesus. Our goal is to provide a safe place and to offer hope to women who are feeling hopeless.  Through your generosity, we were able to bus these women and children from Red Deer to camp and back, provide rooms and food, facilitate activities led by our staff, and provide the children with the opportunity to attend our student camps free of charge. As one returning mother said, “I love coming back to O’hana Camp - it reminds me of where I was and helps me see where we are now.”
