All Under God

This beautiful Sunday morning starts as awesome as the past 6 days, but by some miracle we have the best yet ahead of us. The sounds drift like a soothing symphony as the sun rises to heat up another day. It has been very hot and humid but I’ve not yet had any sign of a headache, yet another sign the Lord is looking out for me, for us, bless His name. Words seem so inadequate to begin to describe the beauty of this blessed day. How awesome the picture he paints for us here in Haiti and all around this world he created by just saying and it was. From gathering up seashells to seeing the ocean blues and greens to the pinks of the flowering vines everywhere as they bravely and boldly cover up the ruins. The red and yellow hibiscuses’ to the healthy hues of greens of the forests, on and on His beauty shouts out, ‘I am here’ but never so like the sweet faces in the innocent children here in Haiti. Today was yet another gift from him as we drove and then climbed up a mountain path to see and attend a children’s church.

Guitar in tow, we planned to minster to them and also sing and encourage them but they did so much more for us then we could ever hope to offer them. Christ is so alive in them. There, up in this beautiful mountain church, only a concrete slab for the floor, wooden roof and open all around, the children sang praises to the Lord. We were given seats of honor at the front where we sat close to the girls in the front row. We got up and sang them our songs then took our seats once again. They sang for us so beautifully, softly and angelically. My heart sang with the soft tender melodies although I didn’t understand a word they sang, I could feel the love and trust they have in the Lord. My eyes never can look enough on their beautiful faces and wonder to the Lord, what will you have them do? Give them courage Lord. Let them show love, talk and sing about your grace to everybody they see each day. As I watched and smiled until my cheeks hurt, my heart turns to my own children and that I would go to the ends of the earth to see them secured in their faith and trust in the lord, a prayer to all the searching souls pleads to my Savior, let everyone find your face. A very humbling and encouraging opportunity which we get to have. I will always be thankful. Seeing the young people, tender teenager girls and boys leading them in worship. Bless them Lord and let your light always shine in them. May they never ever stop singing your praises here on the mountain top.
