Prayer Reflection – January 26, 2024

Philippians 2:9-11 (NIV)

Therefore God exalted him to the highest place
and gave him the name that is above every name,
10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow,
in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
11 and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord,
to the glory of God the Father.

Philippians 4:4-7 (NIV)

Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Today, I invite us pause and reflect on Christ’s authority.  As we read about who He is and what He has done for us (see Philippians 2:1-11), let’s respond with thanksgiving to Him today (see Philippians 4:4-7).

What are you thankful for today?

Instead of anxiety, let’s get on our knees.  Instead of stress, let’s press into His presence and sit with Him and listen for His voice.  Let’s thank Jesus.

Rejoice!  I will say it again: Rejoice!  The Lord is near!

What a wonderful truth.  The Lord is near!

Whatever you are facing today, be encouraged.  The Lord Jesus is near.  He is with you in it.  And Jesus reigns over all.  He is high and lifted up!

Let’s pour out our hearts to Him today.  If you need to cry, cry in His presence.  If you need to be still, be still with Him.  If you need to sing, sing to His glory.  He is worthy.

The Lord bless you as you pause with Jesus today and pray for those that He puts on your heart.  I encourage you to continue to dig into the book of Ephesians as we continue in the sermon series at CrossRoads.  Perhaps there are verses from there today that you need to pray for yourself and others (see Ephesians 1:15-23; 3:14-21; 4:1-6; 6:10-20).

Here are songs that I would like to share with you today as you pause with Jesus:
