Prayer Reflection – January 12, 2024

Psalm 16:5-8 (NIV)

Lord, you alone are my portion and my cup;
    you make my lot secure.
The boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places;
    surely I have a delightful inheritance.
I will praise the Lord, who counsels me;
    even at night my heart instructs me.
I keep my eyes always on the Lord.
    With him at my right hand, I will not be shaken.

Matthew 7:24 (NIV)

24 “Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock.”

What are you thanking God for today?

Recently, I took some time away with Jesus.  It was good to pause.  He reminded me of His faithfulness and how He provides.

I encourage you to read through all of Psalm 16 and the verses that come after Matthew 7:24.  Perhaps you also want to explore more of Ephesians as we continue the sermon series at CrossRoads.

In Matthew, I am struck by Jesus’ exhortation to hear His words and put them into practice.  We can take Him at His word.  His promise.

What is Jesus causing to stand out to you today?

How is He leading you to pray for others?

I invite you to reflect on this song as you pause with Jesus in worship and prayer today.
