Romans 15:13 (NIV)
13 May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Here we are now in the month of May. Spring has officially sprung and there is evidence of new life everywhere.
May I encourage you today and invite you to prayerfully read and reflect on this Scripture? Perhaps even commit it to memory?
Who is God? He is the God of hope. In a world desperate for hope, He is the source of hope and He offers it through His Son Jesus (see Philippians 2:1-11).
He fills us with joy and peace as we trust in Him. And then we overflow with hope by the power of His Holy Spirit.
Why look elsewhere? Hope is found nowhere else.
I love the way that Paul speaks to this in Romans 7:14-25 and then in Romans 8, he further unpacks our hope and our promise in Jesus.
So we cry out “Abba! Father!” (Romans 8:15) as we pray. He loves us. Oh, how He loves us.
There is a song by Stephen McWhirter that has been on my heart recently. I would like to share it with you today as you pause with Jesus:
My prayer is that our hope in Jesus would be our posture as we daily follow Him and pray for people to know this hope that is only found in Christ Jesus our King.
The Lord bless you!
